‘Jom Kenal Arrijal’ was held at MIQ on 6th February 2009. The event was specially organized by the new executive committee of Arrijal Al-Istiqamah. The aim of the event is to showcase what the committee has in store for the youths in 2009, as well to present the rich history of Arrijal. The event was also organized to officially launch the appointment of the committee members for a two-year term from 2009 – 2011.
The event kick-started right after Maghrib at 8pm by Ustaz Muhd Izhar, who was the emcee for the day. Two speeches by the mosque executive chairman, Mr Sa’at Matari and Arrijal Chairman, Firdaus Khan were delivered with gusto. After that, there was a video presentation about the history of Arrijal and the background of the new exco members. The purpose was to show what Arrijal has been doing for the past 10 years since its official launch in 1999. It was also a proof that the executive committee has diverse educational backgrounds and age. Certificates of Appointment were given out to every single committee members. This certificate is also a reminder to the members that “With great power comes great responsibility.”
After Isya’, everyone was served with sumptuous food sponsored by Fauzani Catering. A crossword game was conducted right after dinner for the audiences to interact with the new committee members and to know them up close and personal. The game lasted for about 20 minutes with the audiences encouraged to mingle with the Exco members and ask them questions in order to solve the crossword puzzle. Eventually, there were three groups who inished the earliest and each group brought home a bag of goodies.
Everyone had fun and get to know the committee better, and the events that will be run in 2009. so youths, hold ur breath n be prepared to go through a jolly gd year insya Allah! enjoy are the pics..
